WELCOME TO NASHVILLE FM
History:
The station broadcasted from January 1998 until October 2003 under the name of Country FM, with a national coverage in The Netherlands reaching 6.2 million households. Due to the fact that countryformats are less popular with advertisers in Europe, compared to the USA, the station had to close down in 2003.
Present:
Nashville FM’s station manager, Ruud Kegel, former station manager of Country FM, is a true countryfan. The CMA in Nashville recognized him with the International Broadcaster Award in 1999. He wanted to continue promoting countrymusic. Therefore a foundation has been founded (Stichting Nashville FM) to start a new station and cover the costs. Nashville FM is now broadcasting in The Netherlands on several cablenetworks and on the internet 24/7.

 | Country News: Carrie Underwood And Mike Fisher’s Canadian Home Up For Sale |
 It seems that Carrie Underwood and husband Mike Fisher have officially found their home sweet home in Nashville, as they’ve decided to put their Canadian home up for sale.
The couple completed their Canadian dream home just a couple years ago, when Fisher was playing hockey there, but have since settled in Music City, since he was transferred from the Ottawa Senators to the Nashville Predators. Their Nashville home is a $3.2 million property that they’re building together.

| Country News: Patty Loveless Celebrates 25 Years At The Opry |
|
The Grand Ole Opry honored Patty Loveless on her 25th anniversary as an Opry member this past weekend with performances by Loveless and fellow Opry members Vince Gill and Loretta Lynn.
Loveless was inducted as an Opry member on June 11, 1988.

| Country News: Ray Price Back In The Hospital |
Ray Price has been re-admitted to the hospital, just weeks after doctors gave him the okay to return home.
The iconic country singer, whose hits include "Make The World Go Away", "Release Me" and "For The Good Times", was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last year, and while he announced in February that his cancer was in remission, he's been in and out of the hospital in recent months as he deals with the after-effects of his treatment.

Billy Ray Cyrus and his wife, Tish, are splitsville after 19 years of marriage, citing "irreconcilable differences".
Tish Cyrus filed papers in Superior Court of California in Los Angeles on Thursday. In 2010, the singer filed for divorce, but withdrew the petition in an attempt work out their marriage.
